FAQs
How do we get started?
Contact me and we can set up an appointment or a 15 minute phone consultation. If your child has had a speech or communication evaluation in the last year, we will use that to start. If not, we can set up an evaluation appointment to get started.
Do you take insurance?
I do not take insurance at this time. However, I can fill out a Superbill for you and it can be submitted to your insurance as a way for reimbursement for “outside provider”.
How long are therapy sessions? Frequency?
Therapy sessions are 50 minutes one or two times weekly depending on what you’re looking for and what is a good fit for your child.
Where is your speech clinic?
Roots of Communication is a “mobile clinic” so I use parks, libraries, and community centers that are around the Seattle Area in order to practice speech and communication skills in natural environments. I can also go into day cares and private schools if your child attends those.
What ages do you work with?
I work with ages 3-21.
Can you work with my child if they see another speech language pathologist?
Absolutely! I love working and collaborating with other providers (speech therapists, occupational therapists, teachers, ABA therapists, physical therapists) to make sure that your child is getting all the help they need.
Can I be present for my child’s session?
Of course! You are more than welcome to watch and even interact during the speech therapy session. I always want to make sure that we are taking a team approach and you, Parents, are a big part of the team!
